No joke. Yesterday too on New Years Eve. Because of my injuries, I won't be feeling like posting anything for a couple days, other than maybe a few of my injuries to show the siverity of the situation. For those of you who are wondering what happened, I will be happy to tell.
We were driving home from... Dinner? Just talking, you know? And my boyfriend was paying attention to the road. Well, as we were driving, we stayed in the left lane that was all going in one direction, except for one driver. She was coming the opposite direction - in the wrong direction. Because it was raining, when my boyfriend hit the breaks, we didn't stop when we should have. We kept going and wound up hitting the other drivers car. This driver, knew she was in the wrong, and kept going and was finally stopped a couple yards away from us. A man helped my boyfriend and I out of the car, not only to make sure we were ok, but the car got hit so bad, that it began to smoke; several people said it was going to go up in flames - or at least came to it.
The man who helped us out of the car, lead me to the gas station across the street, as he was making the police call. Telling them where I was hurting, because of the obvious way how I held myself. He left me there, and the clerks as well as some of the customers in the store, tried their best to take care of me. I didn't want anything but my parents [they live across the country].
By the time the paramedics arrived, I found out some interesting information. The driver at fault - was under the influence. So not only were we victims of a wreckless driver, but we were victims of a drunk driver - and could have been one of the few who lost their lives to it.
Anyways, we wound up going to the ER to find out if there was more sevarity to our injuries, and wound up riding in the same ambulence as the WOMAN who hit us. She was between the ages of 70-75. And it was quite obvious that something was clouding her judgment or something, because she was rambling about something in the back of the ambulence. By the end of the night, we found out that she recieved a ticket, and that she will have to pay for our hospital visit, since it was her fault. We're in alot of pain, but I hope she felt like crap when she sobered up.
